Is The Trackman Trackball Mouse By Logitech Right For You?
This will depend a great deal on how you wish to utilize the trackball mouse. The difference between a regular mouse and the Trackman mouse is more form than function. The regular mouse had a ball on the underside of it that moves along a surface such as a mouse pad (an optical mouse moves the same way but replaces the ball with optics). The Trackman Trackball mouse has the ball on the top side, this means the mouse stays stationary and you move the ball itself with your finger.
If you are using a notebook computer, like a laptop from Lenovo (my personal favorite), and/or you have limited desk space, the Trackman Trackball mouse is perfect for your needs. You can set it in one spot and perform all the tasks a normal mouse needs room for. Because the mouse stays stationary and is large enough to rest your hand completely, you have much less stress on your arm, fingers, and elbows; this allows for longer use time with less fatigue.
If you are a gamer, the Trackman Trackball mouse is superb, it is responsive, comfortable and easy to use (unless you are left handed). It is accurate and responds to even your slightest movement. Because the ball is under your thumb, the control is in that much more delicate, controlled member, rather than in your wrist which is a much more ‘broad stroke’ set of muscles.

This mouse is for people with large hands. I am a small woman with small hands and this mouse is way to wide for comfort and actually strains my wrist and shoulder more. If it were only smaller it would be much better.
I had a Logitech Marble before this one.
I would go for the Marble, as you have full control of the pointer by playing around with three fingers on the CENTRAL ball, so your thumb and pinky would go for the left and right click or even the other two little buttons with ease. Ergonomically perfect, but… I missed a wheel, thats why I bought this trackman one.
The 1st drawback of this one is that the ball falls to your left, so it is useless for left handeds.
The 2nd big drawback relates to the first one. Falling the ball to your left, you can only control the ball with one finger, your thumb, doing the rolling experience quite unnatural and unpleasant, moreover when you roll up to down (Lets say from the top of the screen to the bottom)
Conclusion: I can roll the marble for many hours without hassle at all. Rolling the Trackman causes you some fatigue after a couple of hours.
Decision: I would go now for the Kensingtons, the Expert or the Slimblade.
